MARCADO 28 TEQUILA

*****

Marcado 28 Tequila (Blanco and Reposado)  Produced by Bruno Barba, decedent of the Romo family, a 10-generation tequila family known for their agave cultivation and distilling expertise.  Bruno’s great-grandmother first created the reposado category in tequila.  Bottles feature original tattoo art by Billy Baca and El Sando.

Production Methods:

•Hand-selected blue Weber agave, slow-cooked in stainless steel ovens.

•Agave is sourced from family-owned farms cultivated and managed by Bruno Barba who manages the family-owned distillery that produces Marcado 28.

•Open fermentation, pot distillation, no additives.

•The agave is slow cooked with steam to preserve its natural sweetness

•Marcado 28 is 100% additive-free tequila. with only three ingredients: pristine water from the springs of Volcán de Tequila, hand-selected blue Weber agave, and yeast.

Tasting Notes

By using traditional, slow-cooking methods to steam the agave, Marcado 28 Blanco and Reposado retain the plant's natural sweetness with no additives–just water, agave and yeast.

• Marcado 28 Blanco ($49.99) is unaged and unaltered. Notes of pure agave are complemented by floral and citrus scents, adding a slight sweetness to the smooth yet spicy spirit.

• Marcado 28 Reposado  ($59.99) is dark golden in color with aromas of caramelized agave, honey and chili. Additionally, citrus, spice, chocolate and vanilla flavors combine to create a warm and sweet finish that lingers on the palate.

Key Personalities:

• Michael Voltaggio: Renowned chef, culinary visionary, and "Top Chef" winner.

• Bruno Barba: Master tequilero from the Romo family, managing the agave farms (that will later be transformed into tequila) and tequila production/operations.

About Marcado 28

The name "Marcado 28" which means “marked” is a nod to Leviticus 19:28, a biblical passage that warns against tattooing, further inspiring the brand's tagline, "Dare to Be Defiant." Marcado 28 captures the rebellious spirit that tattoos, and their stories represent.

The bottles feature original artwork from renowned Austin-based tattoo artists, El Sando and Billy Baca, blending tradition with contemporary edge. Every element of Marcado 28—its craftsmanship, partners, distillation process, and design—reflects the brand’s core values of authenticity, defiance, and mastery. Marcado 28 offers a premium tequila experience at an accessible price, designed to unite trailblazers and creatives.

Chef Michael Voltaggio and Master Tequilero Bruno Barba have teamed up with Spirits That Rock, LLC to bring Marcado 28 to life. Distilled in Jalisco, Marcado 28 Blanco and Reposado are crafted from 100% blue Weber agave, hand-selected and slow-cooked in stainless steel ovens.
