Pronghorn Invests in Multiple Award-Winning

ANTEEL TEQUILA

February 21, 2023 - Pronghorn, a brand incubator, and accelerator that is backed by Diageo has announced an investment in  multiple award-winning tequila brand, Anteel Tequila.

Anteel Tequila was founded by husband-and-wife duo Nayana and Don Ferguson. Nayana is the world’s first Black woman to co-own a Tequila company.

The dream of creating a tequila brand began in 2016 on a surprise trip to the Dominican where the couple got engaged. While  celebrating and talking about their goals and dreams, the couple noticed hummingbirds flying overhead. This was also the first  time creating a tequila brand entered the conversation and in 2017, the dream became a reality.

Anteel boasts four expressions in its unique portfolio including the world’s only Coconut Lime Blanco, the first Tarocco Blood  Orange Blanco, a Reposado rested in charred Tennessee whiskey barrels and an unaged Blanco. All expressions are multiple  award-winning tequilas.

The name Anteel is short for Antillean Crested Hummingbird, the species the co-founders saw on that life-changing trip to the  Dominican where the brand was born. The logo for Anteel is a beautiful silhouette of the hummingbird. The label design  incorporates the radiant colors of hummingbirds, with each expression showcasing a different colorant.

Anteel Tequila is well positioned to become a leader in the fast-growing infused or flavored tequila sector while also being  heavily respected for their award-winning traditional expressions. The Anteel Tequila team is excited to announce they are currently working on a highly anticipated Anejo expression and expect Anteel Anejo Tequila to hit shelves by Fall 2023.
